Moms don’t remember days…..they remember moments! So how will you celebrate your special someone on Mother’s Day?

I am so excited to announce that my photography training will be at the BABYasART Workshop held in July in Canada at a local photographer’s studio called  Daniela Berkhout Photography .

I have been following the Baby as Art team which consist of two awesome photographers named Carrie Sandoval and Brittany Woodall. The are known world wide in the photography industry as the baby gurus and I am going to train with them for two days. I have been photographing newborns since August 2011 when I opened my business and I am consistenly working towards prefecting my skills. I am sure I will learn a bunch of little tricks that they use to get those perfect newborn images.

Carrie and Britt has taken pictures of everyday newborns as well as well known celebeties babies such as Pink and Carey Hart’s baby girl, Willow and Ziggy Marley’s children.

On April 21, 2012 we will host “Celebration of Smiles Day” a wonderful opportunity for you to update individual portraits of your family members and at the same time support the work of Operation Smile, which treats children around the world who suffer with cleft lips, cleft palates, and other facial deformities.

Along with other participating members of Professional Photographers of America (PPA), we have pledged to donate 100% of each $24 donation made to PPA Charities, which has chosen Operation Smile as its charitable partner. The $24 donation donation represents one tenth of $240, the amount needed to help fund a single surgery.

Recording the smiles of children and their families is our greatest pleasure. That’s why we believe so strongly in the work of Operation Smile. Each year this incredible organization of more than 5,000 volunteer doctors, nursed, dentists, and specialized health care professionals, perform free reconstructive surgeries for children suffering with cleft lips, cleft palates, and other facial deformities.

Every three minutes a child somewhere in the world is born with a facial deformity. One in ten will not survive to see their first birthday. Those who do survive often live in isolation and pain. More than 100,000 children born with a facial deformity each year in Operation Smile’s 26 partner countries. Tens of thousands remain untreated.

Pinterest…you may ask what is it. Well, Pinterest is a social media site that allows you to pin images of interest into boards that you’ve created. It’s like an online bulletin board and so far I have 15 boards with a total of 1088 pins and 96 likes:

I remember when I wanted to design my bedroom, I would tear out pages in a magazine and put then in a book. Well now with Pinterest you are able to pin images to different boards. As you can see I have some boards that may interest my clients as well as a Style Me Pretty board for me.

Just last week I had the pleasure of photographing a new baby boy. I had the great opportunity to photograph his parents maternity session and it was a great honor to come back to photograph their newborn baby. I adore Brody’s parents and he will truly feel the love in this home.
