Newborn Contest

I have decided that it’s time for a contest so depending on the interest I may be offering more. I wish I had thought of this sooner because starting January 1, 2011 I am going to be doing a complete over haul on my website and blog for the new year – so needless to say this is going to be a short contest.

Here is the deal. If you are local and expecting a baby (or babies) between 7/1/2010 and 12/31/2010 please leave me a comment below with your name, due date and email address (so I can contact you), and if you like a little bit about yourself and (if you know it) the gender and name of your baby.

The giveaway ends on 8/15/10 @ 11:59pm – Winner will be chosen with random.org and announced on Monday 8/16/2010. The winner will receive a free newborn session for their baby (To take place in my studio in Columbia, MD) and 50 free custom birth announcements. I prefer that sessions take place within the first 2 weeks of a baby’s life but there of course will be exceptions made for preterm babies or babies with other health issues. If you are an existing client who has already paid for and scheduled a newborn session feel free to enter as well. If you win I will add this as a credit to your ordering cart. If you are not entering the contest please don’t leave a comment at this time.

Papa- Paparazzi~ You’ll be Famous Contest

I know some of you may know Lady Gaga’s song called Paparazzi however this post is about all the mothers and fathers that are their children’s personal paparazzi. Yeah I know you are out there. I am also guilty of this myself. I am always behind the camera trying to capture every special moment in my child’s life. I am sure if you met my daughter she would let you know that she is tried of mommy always being the one with the camera all the time at every event/location.

Ok, enough about me and my family as this post is for you. I am running a contest so here is what you have to do.

*Grab one of those paparazzi photos that you have of your child

*Send One of your images to me via email, info@asinglephoto.net I will post all images to the Facebook album

*Join my Facebook fan page, using the Facebook link at the top of the blog or search for “ A Single Photo” on Facebook.

* Send People (your friends, family, co-workers and everyone else you can think of) to join my Facebook fan page and VOTE for their favorite photo.

*The Winner will be announced on June 28th based on the total number of votes for each entered image. Votes are counted as comments on each individual image. A person must be a fan of my A Single Photo Facebook page to vote. Votes from people that are not fans will not be counted!

The Rules

~Entries must be submitted by WEDNESDAY, JUNE 16th! I will post all entries on Thursday, June 17th, and the voting will begin immediately!!!

~One entry per person

~Only separate comments to a picture that state VOTE will be counted as a vote. Simply clicking LIKE by the picture will NOT count as a vote!

~ONE vote per person!

~Voting will continue from June 17th through June 25th. Winner will be announced on June 28, 2010!!!

~submitted images must be of a child or children under the age of 18.

~ For obvious reasons, photos taken by a professional photographer will NOT be accepted.

The session must take place within 25 mile radius of Columbia, MD and be redeemed by August 28, 2010. A signed model release will also be required prior to the session.

Today I was leaving the house to drive my daughter to the store after it stopped raining. We saw these flip flop lit up by the moon light. My daughter said, mom why don’t you take a picture of that. So I turned my car lights on to assist with the images.

My doggie had this ducky since he was a little puppy. I have searched high and low for a replacement and can not find it anywhere. Who would think a dog would have a favorite toy or security blanket.

Tonight I stayed up late and started to watch a movie with the hubby but he ended up turning in before me so I thought I would try and squeeze in a picture at 11:30pm. I looked out the back screen door and I saw the tire of my hubby’s bike and thought I would try to put the limit on my camera and shoot at night with no flash. Boy am I amazed with the picture. I do have a lot of grain to the image but I am so impressed with what I got.

Nikon D200 with 50mm at .0.6 sec@f1.8 ISO 1250 no flash. The only thing I did was an auto white balance on the image and a color pop.

Today I wanted to post about love because everyday I find a new reason why I love my family more each day. Even when I had a rough day or my teenager is going through teen attitudes I still find time to realize how much I love my family. I have been blessed to be loved by a wonderful husband that accepts me for who I am no matter what mood I may be in that day. The way my family loves me makes my life easier.
