What is After Dark?…..After Dark  is a photographer’s educational event that was held in Charlotte North Carolina this month. This event allows a bunch of photographers get together for over 36+ hours of training during a 3 day period.

I have to tell you I had the best time in learning from some of the best photographer’s around the world such as Julie Klaasmeyer, Lori Nordstrom, Valerie Tabor Smith, Justin Jagare, Kirk Voclain and Neil van Niekerk to name just a few. I came back from this three day event with some new ideas to apply for 2012 as well as some new techniques to apply to my business.

It is very important to A Single Photo’s business to stay up to date with cutting edge techniques. I can not wait into you see what we have in store for next year. We will keep up updated while we are making the adjustments that you will love.

Feeding your baby can be a challenging time for mothers that are choosing the breast feed. Often times I find mothers that get frustrated because it seems that their baby wants to eat or nurse all the time. However is it possible that you are not producing enough milk for your baby for each feeding? Is your baby waking up to nurse atleast every 2 hours or nursing up to 8-12 times in a 24 hour period?

Some help or suggestions for ensuring that your baby is getting enough food are some simple tips. When you are nursing your baby try breast feeding you baby for a longer period or try nursing on one breast until it is empty before switching to the other side. Check to see if you are changing your baby’s wet diaper atleast 6-8 times in a 24-hour period. Make sure you are getting enough rest, drinking plenty of fluids and eating healthy can also help you with your milk flow.

We know that these times can be trying while you are loving the joys of being a mommy but make sure you reach out to family and friends if you need the help. Think of it this way…when you are one the plane and it’s going down you have to take your oxygen first before you can help someone else. Therefore make sure you are taking caring of yourself so you can be a healthy and happy mommy for your newborn baby.

Your baby wakes up and is crying. You check their diaper, see if they are hungry, too warm or too cold, or just comfort them and rock and rock and rock them. But nothing helps….. so it is possible your baby my have colic or reflux.

Most mothers have restless nights due to their babies crying most the day and nights because they are uncomfortable. Some of my nursing moms talk about how they noticed that when they eat certain things they notice how it affects their baby and avoid those items. Other moms talk about no matter what bottle nipple they use their baby still have some kind of discomfort.

So….what do most moms do to help their babies? I have heard numerous mom state their doctor has either given medication as a remedies or tell them to try something more natural. A lot of moms are using Gripe water to help calm their baby’s stomachs and they call it a little miracle in the bottle. You can find Gripe water at local stores but if you want to save yourself a trip, you can also buy gripe water online. Colic Calm Gripe Water is a brand which touts an astounding 90% satisfaction rate and is regulated by the FDA (that means nothing in it to harm your baby).

But…. before you try this remedies clear this with your baby’s pediatrician first.  We would love to know any suggestion you may have to offer in the comment section below.
